Floods in Ljubljana through infrared camera

To document the flood that occurred in Ljubljana in October, Geavis has produced infrared aerial photos within the nearly infrared range of 750-1400 nm. Our preference was to benefit from the absorption of infrared light in pure water, showing the flooded areas in a very dark colour. However, the water turned to be turbid and bouncing partly the infrared light. On the present infrared image, the scale of flooding is now shown as light grey areas. The images thus obtained show with great precision the conditions in the area and can be used for evidence, analysis and assessment of the damage incurred.
